Since 1974, TLC has provided home-based early intervention services to Wake County. Child Developmental Specialists provide developmental therapy to children from birth to 5 years of age in their home or child care setting. TLC therapists provide educational support to the families of young children with special needs or who are at risk for delays and work directly with the children to help them improve skills and meet developmental milestones. The Child Development Specialists have NC Infant/Toddler/Family Specialist Certification or Provisional Certification (with supervision).
Since 1974, TLC has provided home-based Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS) to children and families in Wake County and beyond. ECIS are provided to children from birth to 3 years who are at risk or showing signs of developmental delays or have a specific diagnosis. Therapists provide educational support to families of young children with special needs and work directly with the child in order to help him or her strengthen necessary skills and meet developmental milestones before entering pre-k.
In addition to home-based therapy, TLC offers an inclusive playgroup for children 18 months to 3 years of age. Building Blocks Developmental Playgroup provides daily opportunities to children to interact and engage with other children of all abilities as they learn, practice and strengthen play and social skills. Together, we will sing, engage, explore and create while learning to follow directions and participate in group activities. Both in-home ECIS and Building Blocks Playgroups have bilingual therapists on staff. Our Building Blocks Playgroup also includes Triple P-Positive Parenting Program, monthly parent-teacher conferences. and parent coaching on-site and in home. Sessions are held at no cost Monday through Friday 9:00 – 12:00 p.m. on TLC’s campus. Click here to fill out our registration form for the upcoming year, August 20, 2018 to May, 31, 2019.
